Selected Classwork

Photo 46 was the beginning Photoshop class. Photo 49 was the Advanced one. We hit the ground running in this class. This was our very first assignment and it was a lot more exacting than anything that we’d done the semester before. In addition to getting rid of the background and giving it a new one, we were to clear all of the debris off the stairs and had a list of minor tweaks and changes to deal with regarding the two little girls. In addition, all of this semester’s work was to be presented (digitally) matted and labeled.
I went a bit overboard on “presentation” that semester. Probably over-compensating for my inherent lack of any great spark of genius (or even competence) as a photographer.
If I were to redo this assignment I might even try to go in with the Liquify tool and see if I could give the younger child a somewhat happier expression. But on consideration, it may be just as well that we didn’t get very much into things like the Liquify tool.
